A gentle 1.5 km coastal walk inside Tomaree National Park linking two beautiful beaches — with views of the 1974 SS Sygna shipwreck visible from the headland.

The Zenith Beach to Wreck Beach coastal walk is a short 1.5 km return track inside Tomaree National Park, connecting two of the most scenic beaches on the Tomaree Peninsula. The track traverses a low headland with views back over Shoal Bay and Port Stephens before dropping down to Wreck Beach. Wreck Beach takes its name from the SS Sygna, a Norwegian bulk carrier that ran aground during a storm in May 1974. Parts of the wreck are still visible in the surf from the beach and headland. The walk is easy to moderate — mostly flat with a short rocky section crossing the headland. Allow around 45 minutes return. Access via Zenith Beach Road off Shoal Bay Road. Free parking. Dogs not permitted (national park).
